I was dog crazy from the day I was born, and finally purchased my first
purebred German Shepherd Dog in 1991 and my first GSD show dog in 1995
(Champion R Drew of Fran-Jo ROM}. Since then, we have owned and/or bred
multiple AKC Select and Grand Champions, Best in Show winners, ROM Dams
and Sires, multiple Futurity and Maturity winners and more than 40
American and/or Canadian Champions here at our kennel in Minnesota.
That being said, we understand that the majority of our AKC puppies are
destined to become the beloved, loyal, brilliant guardians of their
home and their family—ready, willing and able to perform any task their
master asks of them. So, the focus of our breeding program is on the
TOTAL DOG-- mentally sound, confident, healthy GSDs that combine
beautiful, balanced movement with the working abilities for which the
breed is famous. We particularly strive then for excellent
temperament—the most important quality one of our dogs could possibly
possess.
And so performance titles are as important as conformation titles here
at AnneIsle-Malibar. Our dogs have excelled in therapy work, herding,
obedience, tracking and other performance venues. We are especially
proud of 2x Select Excellent Ch. Anne-Isle’s Promise Keeper (Tucker)
and his incredible co-owner and handler/trainer Kristan Sherman. Not
only is Tucker an ROM sire and an AKC 2xSelect Excellent Grand
Champion, he is the youngest GSD to attain the coveted title of
PAM—Performance Award of Merit. Click on Promise Keeper under our
Record of Achievements to see the long list of titles he has won in AKC
competitions.
Here at AnneIsle-Malibar, we do all we can to give our puppies the best
head start—state of the art genetic screening of parents and pups, the
best food with the highest quality ingredients, lots of socialization,
fresh air, exercise and room to run and play.
We appreciate your interest and we are glad to share our passion with
you.

ABOUT Bob Drescher (Formerly breeding under the
kennel name of “Malibar”).

I have been obsessed with the German Shepherd
Dog for over 50 years. I
started with obedience training and exhibition, tracking and protection
work, and in 1976 was hired to revamp and run the Lancaster County
Prison K-9 program. Along with the G.I. bill, I paid for my college
education by working K-9 Security at night. In partnership with the
founder and owner of K-9 Security, I lectured and performed with my
first GSD, Blitz, at many school assemblies, civic gatherings and we
were featured on TV three times.
In addition to my professional training activities, I soon was
introduced to conformation. In 1974, I became involved in
conformation
showing and breeding. Since then, I have bred, owned, and handled
numerous champions and selects in the U.S. and Canada. I co-owned the
last German import to go “Select” at the U.S. National (1990).
I have been a member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of America, Inc.
(GSDCA) since 1974, the U.S. National announcer since 1989, and an AKC
judge since 1999, judging in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. I judged U.S.
National bitches in 2010, U.S. National dogs in 2019, and the Canadian
National dogs & Specials in 2016, and dogs in 2022. I previously
served as the Education Committee Chairperson for the German Shepherd
Dog Club of America, Inc.
